Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process – INICIS: INISMA International Conferenses on Islamic Studies
- Submission
- Authors (conference presenters) submit their manuscripts to the OJS system using the official proceedings template.
- Metadata and formatting are verified by the editorial team.
- Desk Review (Editorial Screening)
- Editors check the manuscript for relevance to the seminar theme, originality, and adherence to author guidelines.
- Manuscripts that do not meet the criteria may be rejected at this stage (desk reject).
- Peer Review (Double Blind Review)
- Each manuscript is assigned to at least two reviewers in the relevant field.
- The review process is conducted under a double-blind system (identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential).
- Reviewers evaluate based on:
- Novelty and originality
- Relevance to the seminar theme
- Methodology and analysis
- Clarity of language and structure
- Review Decision
- Reviewers provide recommendations:
- Accept (no revision required)
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
- Author Revision
- Authors revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments and resubmit through the system.
- Revised manuscripts are checked by the editor, and if necessary, returned to reviewers for further assessment.
- Final Decision (Editorial Board)
- The editorial board makes the final decision based on reviewers’ reports and the revised manuscript.
- Accepted manuscripts proceed to the production stage.
- Copyediting & Proofreading
- Manuscripts are checked for grammar, formatting, citation style, and consistency with the proceedings template.
- Authors are given the opportunity to proofread before final publication.
- Publication
- Accepted articles are published in the International Seminar Proceedings via the OJS system.
- Articles may be assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
