Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process – INICIS: INISMA International Conferenses on Islamic Studies 

  1. Submission
    • Authors (conference presenters) submit their manuscripts to the OJS system using the official proceedings template.
    • Metadata and formatting are verified by the editorial team.
  2. Desk Review (Editorial Screening)
    • Editors check the manuscript for relevance to the seminar theme, originality, and adherence to author guidelines.
    • Manuscripts that do not meet the criteria may be rejected at this stage (desk reject).
  3. Peer Review (Double Blind Review)
    • Each manuscript is assigned to at least two reviewers in the relevant field.
    • The review process is conducted under a double-blind system (identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential).
    • Reviewers evaluate based on:
      • Novelty and originality
      • Relevance to the seminar theme
      • Methodology and analysis
      • Clarity of language and structure
  4. Review Decision
    • Reviewers provide recommendations:
      • Accept (no revision required)
      • Minor Revision
      • Major Revision
      • Reject
  5. Author Revision
    • Authors revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments and resubmit through the system.
    • Revised manuscripts are checked by the editor, and if necessary, returned to reviewers for further assessment.
  6. Final Decision (Editorial Board)
    • The editorial board makes the final decision based on reviewers’ reports and the revised manuscript.
    • Accepted manuscripts proceed to the production stage.
  7. Copyediting & Proofreading
    • Manuscripts are checked for grammar, formatting, citation style, and consistency with the proceedings template.
    • Authors are given the opportunity to proofread before final publication.
  8. Publication
    • Accepted articles are published in the International Seminar Proceedings via the OJS system.
    • Articles may be assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
