Author Guidelines
INICIS: INISMA International Conferences on Islamic Studies Proceedings
1. Submission Requirements
When submitting your manuscript to INICIS Proceedings, please upload the following files separately:
a) Title Page (Unblinded) containing the full title, author(s) name, institutional affiliation, and author notes (prepared according to the APA 7th edition).
b) Main Manuscript (Blinded) which includes a blinded title page, abstract with keywords, the full text of the article including tables and figures, formatted according to the template.
c) Author Biography (maximum 150 words per author).
All manuscripts must follow the requirements stated in the document “Formatting Requirements and Common Formatting Errors.” Manuscripts that do not comply will be returned to authors for correction.
2. General Policies
- Manuscripts must be written in English.
- Word length: 3,000–6,000 words (including references, tables, and figures).
- Manuscripts must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. If parts of the manuscript have been presented or published in other forms, authors must clearly state this in the Author Notes on the separate title page.
- Manuscripts must not contain identifying information in the blinded version, including within references and acknowledgments. Authors are expected to anonymize self-citations and related works to maintain the double-blind review process.
- Manuscripts must conform to the APA 7th edition referencing and style guidelines.
- Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format. PDF uploads will not be accepted.
3. Abstract and Keywords
- Each manuscript must include an abstract of no more than 200 words.
- The abstract should be followed by 3–5 keywords that describe the main topics of the article and facilitate indexing in databases.
4. Copyright and Permissions
- Authors retain copyright of their work while granting INICIS Proceedings the right of first publication.
- No written or oral permission is required to reproduce tables, figures, or quotations of fewer than 500 words from this proceedings, or for photocopying for classroom use.
- Authors are free to distribute the final published version (PDF) of their articles for academic and educational purposes, provided full and accurate bibliographic citation is included.
- For materials such as images, figures, or tables under copyright by another publisher, authors must obtain written permission from the copyright holder and provide documentation upon submission.
5. Commentaries and Replies
The editorial board encourages scholarly discussions in the form of commentaries on recently published articles in the proceedings.
- Commentaries are subject to the same editorial review process as full articles.
- Authors of the original article will be notified and given the opportunity to submit a reply.
- Commentaries are limited to 1,500 words, and replies are limited to 750 words.
